Came here late afternoon for a focaccia sandwich which we ate outside, however a large seagull swooped in and took mine within a second of my ass leaving the seat. All I wanted to do was take a picture of the aesthetically pleasing simplistic store front. In shock I watched it wolf it down across the road. Thankfully the staff were happy to remake my sandwich free of charge.

*there was a discount on the coffee, for bringing your own keepcup, get on itttt

5 stars for a cute, simplistic cafe that does not create overly high expectations and pleasantly surprises you with how quaint the atmosphere is.

My guest and I arrived around 7AM on a Monday morning in February, we had just been walking through the streets of North Laine trying to find something open and we saw the sign of this establishment with wide windows and warm invitation. We came in, saw a nice display of breakfast foods and ordered a Halloumi sandwich for less than 5 pounds to split. We also got a cup of tea, which was nice and fresh.

Service was quick as we were the only ones inside, the seating - which looked slightly cramped, was clean. The staff had split the sandwich in a perfect half. Each bite was warm, flavorful and played with bright savory notes. Quite a balanced meal that was filling and cheap!

    Tips/Takeaways:
-Would recommend coming out here if you are in Brighton on an early morning looking for breakfast

Bread and Milk was the perfect little cafe/coffee shop/lunch spot for a casual Sunday afternoon in Brighton.

I stopped in here hoping to grab a cup of coffee and maybe a bite to eat while working a little bit on my laptop. They have free wifi! You just have to ask for the password. This little shop on the street corner has large windows for some natural sunlight and people watching while you're "working" or just enjoying your meal. There are seats outside as well. I ended spending at least an hour here just relaxing, sipping on my coffee, snacking on my sandwich, and working a bit.

I definitely give this place five stars for the great space and atmosphere. Personally, if it was just based on the food and coffee I would probably give 4 stars.

Overall, I would be back if I needed a good, clean space to work but am still on the hunt for the whole package of amazing coffee and great food (healthy and vegan options are always a plus, but maybe I'm just picky).

Very cute, aesthetic cafe. Bless this place for opening up early. I had the honey and sultana porridge and it was pretty filling and tasty. This place is just A-OK and won't disappoint or exceed your expectations. Not a bad place to sit and have a coffee.

A cute corner cafe on Trafalgar Street with a big front window, offering lovely natural light and great peoplewatching. Things I saw:

    - a seagull walking down the middle of the road like an asshole
    - possibly the same seagull almost getting run over by a car and spooking the driver
    - a zillion cute dogs wagging their butts
    - lots of people in happy afternoon moods perusing old vinyls at the shop across the street. So Brighton.

The flat white tasted more like a latte but it was still good. All the cafe drinks are £2.50 or so and well made. They have a sandwich/drink lunch deal and a nice display of shining pastries. It seems like a pleasant, quiet place to work or read.

No restroom as far as I could tell :(
